Red. It was just a simply color. The key world there, though, was color. Jaeden loved colors. Was rather obsessed with them. Anything that that stood out always caught his attention. Always drew him in. He didn't know what it was either. He just really liked colors. No matter where they were either. If a dog had bright blue eyes, he would often stop and just stare, gazing at their eyes. Sure, it was a tad bit on the creepy side, but that was Jay for ya. He just got transfixed by any and all colors. He could hardly walk threw the forest without stopping every five feet to look at something. Lately, he had been getting better though. He only stopped half the time, and he was starting to catch himself when he stared. He was still bad, but he was improving.
When it came to the Red Canyon though, Jay felt like he could just die right here. Orange truly was his favorite color, but red was still right on up there. Seeing all the rocks stained like that, well, it made his smile. His tail wags slightly, ears perked up. His tongue rolled out of the side of his muzzle, and he happily trotted around. His small paws easyily pounced from rock to rock, his chocolate colored eyes constantly looking around. This place was beautiful, there was no denying it. He would bite anyone who thought otherwise. You would have to be crazy to not love a place like this.
It was a perfect place to spend his day off. True, he really didn't do much on all the other days, but today he particularly decided to do absolutely nothing. He just wanted to lay around, bask in the sun, take in the warmth. Maybe he'd chase after a lizard or two. He really hadn't planned the day out, just knew it was his mini little vacation from the world. And it had started out perfectly. He woke up in his den, uncurled with a stretch, and was greeted by the warm sunlight on the exit from the cave. There was even a bird chirping off somewhere. He had just grinned, and started walking, letting his paws lead him where ever. He was actually slightly surprised when he came to the canyon. He had never been here before, even though he had lived on this isle his entire life.
Funny how things worked out. He felt like a pup or something, bouncing around like he was. He did finally stop, his head tilting back, looking up into the bright blue sky. He drank in the scents of the air, but quickly curled a lip. His eyes swifted a bit, and he saw three large birds flying in a circle. Vultures, he figured. He gave out a sigh, just looking over at them. Curiosity was a demon though, and slowly consumed his brain. He couldn't help but make his way over to here the birds were circling, just to see what was laying below. After bounding over a few loose rocks, he came to the site. Frankly, it was disappointing. A rather large brown snake was belly up, a small cut on it, and it was laying in a pool of blood. His eyes looked back up into the sky. "All three of you for this? What is wrong with you..." For some reason he was hoping for a large dead animal. He didn't know why, but it just sounded interesting. Jaeden carried on with his day, quickly turning his back to the dead snake and trotting off along the rocks. After he felt he was a good distance away, he scouted out where he would spend the rest of his day. He grinned as he spotted a large red rock, flat surfaced and just sitting there in the bright sun. He quickly went over to it, and hoped on top. Almost instantly he slid down onto his belly, his front paws slightly hanging over the edge. His rested his head on his front legs, and blinked sleepily. He gave a yawn, eyes glancing up into the sky. He felt the warmth of the sun, and it slowly made him tired. Yep, this was the perfect spot to spend the day. It would have been better though if he wasn't so completely and utterly alone.[/blockquote]

Artemis knew that a wise wolf would stay in the territory of her pack. She knew that all sorts of trouble could come from being alone far away from any support if she should need it. That was exactly why she had decided to go off on her own. The proud wolf would never desire to need anyone in her life. Not for anything. She functioned better when she only had herself to depend on. Well, she couldn't let herself down could she? Perhaps this was a pessimistic point of view but it was hers and there was no changing that. It wasn't as if some aweful event had made her think this way so she really had no excuse besides it being her own nature.
It was her wandering nature that had carried her to the Red Canyon. It was somewhere she came to think and to simply exist away from the busy life of the Hu'li wolves. Very few others seemed to find their way to this barren place which meant that she was not used to meeting anyone that she did not already know. It was odd then that, as she enterred the place she loved the most, she saw another creature there. She sniffed the air carefully, aware that he was a wolf since she was too far away for her eyes to confirm this. Well, a wolf she had never met was an interesting change of pace for the day.
Artemis would be seen from far away in this environment since her pelt was not exactly camouflaged. Her fur was a mix of grey, black and white with a long black stripe the full length of her tail. It was her bright amber eyes that were the remarkable aspect of her appearance not only for the colour but also because they seemed alight with laughter as if she was constantly amused by something. Artemis was an average size for a wolf, not really an imposing figure unless she was angered. Then she took on a whole other life.
As she approached the other wolf she was startled by his appearance. She had never seen a wolf like him, although she knew him to be one from his scent. A small smile curved over her muzzle unbidden. This was certainly going to be an interesting day for her. Her ears were perked, showing her curiosity although she did not mean for it to be that way. "Hello," she began in a warm tone of voice. "I didn't expect to find anyone else here today." She sat down to show that she was not about to become threatening. It was simple good manners from one wolf to another.
Artemis settled her amber eyes on him, wondering why he was not a member of the Hu'li pack. It seemed odd to her since she had been born into it and knew no other life. She curled her tail around her paws in a relaxed manner, deciding that she would be content to share her thinking place for a change. It was a pleasant change of pace for her routined life. "I'm Artemis."

Jaeden sort of lived a life of luxury. It probably wasn't the best thing, but he did. He did pull his own weight for the pack, but it was mostly the easy stuff. He would carry messages around or even clean up the dens. It was an easy life. He never really hunted, the big warriors did that. Instead he just picked over left overs, and was perfectly fine with that. He never ate much anyways. Hunting really wasn't his thing anyways. His bright orange coat gave him away far to easily. Most of he territory around here was green, and he stuck out like a soar thumb. It really wasn't something he liked.
This Red Canyon though, here is pelt actually kind of blended in. Orange and red weren't to far off the color wheel, so from a distance he might have just look like a really sunny part of a rock. Even his black legs and mane sort of blended. It was nice. He could just lay where he was, not really have to worry about any threats. Well, actually he was kind of worried about the vultures. He didn't want them thinking he was some dead corpse just laying around. He opened his eyes, head lifting as he looked back into the sky, spying the three birds still flying in the same area. He smirked, and breathed in a breath to give out a sigh. As he breathed in though, he caught something else. A scent. His ears flattened against the back of his head, muzzle pointing further into the air as he drank it in again. Wolf, defiantly. There was no denying that from one of the dogs that ran around here. He gave out a sigh, opening his eyes and looking around. He didn't know if he was in a wolf kind of mood. Considering he didn't recognize the scent, it was either a loner or a Hu'li member. He had run into one of the pack members once, and least just say it left a bad impression. He just gave out another sigh, and rested his head back on his paws. Maybe there weren't coming this way.Jaeden must have dozed off, for when he opened his eyes back, there was a wolf coming his way. It was easy to spot it, fur sticking out like a sore thumb. He flattened himself more against the rock he was laying on, brown eyes looking at her as she approached. He watched as she smiled, and her ears perked up. As she spoke, he lifted his head off his paws, his ears still back. "Hi...." His eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at her. Even though he wanted someones company, he was often picky about who that person would be. "That feeling is mutual love." He gave her a smile, and watched as she sat down. He sat up on his rock as well, pushing up with his front paws. His large, bat like ears slowly came up, his eyes looking at her. That was when he caught her gaze. Her amber eyes were stunning, and again he found himself pray to the beautiful color. He hadn't been expecting it, and it sort of caught him off guard. His ears perked all the way up, and he didn't even blink. Just stared. That was when she said her name. It actually started him, and he quickly looked away after realizing that he had been staring. He cleared his throat, looking back at her, but being careful not to stare again at her eyes. "Artemis? That's pretty," he looked away from her eyes again, and down at his small black paws. "My name is Jaeden, but please, just call me Jay." He flashed her a bright smile, slowly looking back at her. His left ear slowly began to sink as he looked at her. "What's a pretty think like you doing out here anyways? Catching some sun?"His warm smile stayed on his muzzle, his brown eyes staying on her face.[/blockquote]

As Jay stared at her eyes Artemis was slightly confused. She cocked her head slightly to one side with curiosity,"Am I that fascinating?" Her tone of voice was friendly enough although it was clear that she didn't see what was so interesting about her. Ah well, it was amusing at least. Her ears twitched a little as she listened to what he had to say. Jaeden? That was a strange name, one that she had never heard before anyways. She realised her own name was kind of a mouthful, "It's nice to meet you, Jay. You can call me Arty." She only let wolves call her by her nickname, no dog would ever have that honour.
"Just wandering. Pack life is a little.. hectic" Pretty? That made Artemis laugh, a soft tinkling sort of laughter like a bell ringing. She had never been called pretty by anyone other than her parents but that was a long time ago. It amused her, to say the least. Well if this wolf before her wasn't a charmer! It was good that he had caught her in a rare mood or she might have not taken the compliment well. She had times when she went completely crazy over nothing. It was odd how quickly the grey wolf could snap but it was all part of her personality.
"You're not a Hu'li wolf, are you?" It intruiged her as to why anyone that had the priviledge to be born a wolf would not be part of the pack. But she supposed if someone did not share their beliefs it would be difficult to live amongst them. As creatures went the Hu'li were very focussed on the spiritual side of life. Ah well that was how they were made and how they were raised.

Jaeden did feel embarrassed for staring. he just couldn't help it. It was a color thing. He was sort of an odd ball when it came to colors. he couldn't help himself. It was just a drug or something, addicting. He gave off a nervous chuckle, eyes looking at her face, but not her eyes. "Sorry... You eyes are just a vibrant color." He gave off a bit of a shrug, like that was a good enough excuse to tell her. It worked for him, and made plenty of sense in his own head. Maybe she would understand his color fascination if he explained it more, but for right now, that was good enough. She told him that he could call her Arty. His nose twitched at the idea. "If it is alright with you, I think I would rather just say Artemis," a warm smile still on his muzzle as he spoke, "I find it a lot more compelling." He usually never called people by nicknames that they gave him. he preferred coming up with his own, and then would forever call that canine by that name, rather they liked it or not. He hadn't decided on one for Artemis here just yet, so he figured he would just call her by her full name until he thought of one. It was true. Jay did have a tendency to give people compliments. There were just subtle little ones anyways, and how she laughed had made him look at her strange. Most girls either batted their eyes at him or just continued on as if he hadn't said them. To him, it was just a reflex. It just sort of came out of his mouth. He really couldn't help it. As she told him she just wandered here, he grinned. "Alas, I know exactly how you feel," his burnt orange tail moved a bit, the tip falling off the rock he was sitting on. "I am out here for the very same reason." Even though his life really wasn't to hectic, he still liked having the day off. Her question caught him a bit of guard. He blinked, looking at her, his left ear completely going back while the right was still half way up. "Nah, I am a recent member to of United." He really didn't speak to proudly of the pack, but just said it off with a shrug. He had been born here as well, and heavily followed the Hu'li Pack beliefs. It was just his skin. He had never felt like he belonged in a pack like that. True, he was a wolf, but he was a maned wolf. He was smaller than normal wolves, a lot thinner, and frankly, just looked so much different. He had just lived his life a loner, all until the United Pack. He felt more at home with them than a bunch of pure blooded wolves. Jaeden looked at Artemis, blinking again. She seemed like a nice enough wolf, and wouldn't mind if the whole Hu'li Pack was like her, but he knew better than that. There were wolves in there that only wanted true wolf blood, and Jay felt that he wasn't one. "I take it your a member then love?" It really wasn't a question, for he pretty much knew the answer. Just sort of stating it.[/blockquote]

Artemis noticed his embarrassment and could not help but give him a friendly smile to tell him without words that she didn't mind. It was nice to get attention every so often even if it was from someone she did not actually know. "You're one to talk, Jay, having such brightly coloured fur," she chuckled, aware of the contrast between her grey colouring and his orange pelt. They looked like they each had the other's correct eye colour which was something interesting indeed.
He could call her either, in truth she wasn't particularly bothered. Just as long as he didn't make up a nickname for her, she really wasn't one to be called just anything by anyone. Being called 'Arty' was her limit really. She caught the strange look he gave her as she laughed so she felt she should really explain, "Sorry, I just find it amusing to be compliment since I'm not used to it." Artemis shrugged slightly, unconcerned.
Her ears perked as she was startled to hear that he was a United member. Oh how peculiar... She supposed it was down to personal choice but in her eyes the Hu'li were her family and she could not imagine being part of any other pack. She nodded at his not-quite-question. "Yes, I was born into the Hu'li pack." Her voice brimmed with the pride she felt at being part of such a spiritual group of beings. Ok so many of them had no love for any other than typical wolves and although she had developed some of their prejudice she was less inclined to judge.
Artemis could assume why he was not a member of the pack. He did not look like other wolves. Perhaps he didn't even have their beliefs. It didn't matter really, it wasn't like you could or should force another to believe in something that did not appeal to their nature as it appeared to her own. She felt that she could become friends with this wolf. He was easier to talk to than some of her own packmates which was odd. Maybe it was because he wasn't aware of her other nature. He would find out at some point and possibly never speak to her again so for the time being she would enjoying conversing.
Glancing up at the sky she noticed there was not a single cloud there. The vultures were still lurking just incase the two wolves were going to hunt for them, but other than that the sky remained empty. "I wonder if they know that we aren't here to feed them." Artemis mused out loud with a grin easing its way over her muzzle. She had a cheeky side to her that she rarely let out. It was nice really.

Noticing her smile, Jay did need a little more at ease. He was just grateful she didn't think of him as some kind of perverted freak that just liked staring at people. As she spoke, he did smile though, she did have a point. "Ya, but I didn't catch you gawking at it." A light laugh escaped his muzzle, his chocolate colored eyes still looking at the multi-colored wolf before him. His tail swishing back up and wrapped around his paws. His eyes slightly narrowed as he looked at her. "Not used to it," his voice sounded almost taken aback as he spoke, "why, what kind of guys are you hanging around that don't compliment a stunning figure such as yourself?." It did come as a mild shock to him, but maybe it was just his nature. He found that giving compliments to people warmed them up, made them feel more at ease around you. It was kind of a defensive mechanism really. Win the other over with little sayings, and you were good. He always meant them though, so it wasn't all to bad. He had just found that if he didn't compliment someone, that he ended up teasing them about something. It was easier to tease, but the outcome wasn't always as nice. Figured, was the one word running threw his mind when she declared she was a Hu'li Pack wolf. He couldn't help but notice the pride in her voice when she said it though, and suddenly was thinking back to when he said what pack he belonged to. He hadn't said it with any pride at all. She put him to shame. You would think one would be have said it with pride, even more so that he had only recently joined the pack. But he didn't know, there really wasn't all that much to be so prideful of. He didn't have a honorable rank, he didn't have a mate, didn't really have any friends. It was till like he was a loner, only now that he had a den to sleep in at night that was surrounded by other canines. He wished in the back of his mind that he could have to the pride his pack as Artemis had for hers. Jaeden's eyes went up to the sky as she spoke, a light chuckle coming from him. "Probably not, the filthy things." His brown eyes watching the birds as they circled around in the sky. He always had found them weird. They were such large bird, and had large talons. They were quiet and fast. So why scavenge for food? They could easily take down their own prey if they wanted to. At least if looked like it. Then a thought crossed Jay's mind. What if they were lazy? They could very well be much like him. He usually just ate the food other's brought, or finished off someone else's meal, merely because he was to lazy to go out and hunt himself. He blinked, bringing his eyes back to Artemis for a second before looking at the sun. He couldn't help but yawn. he knew it was rude, but it just sort of slipped. The sun felt so good and he was always tired underneath its rays. His front paws slid forward, and he laid back down on his rock that he had found. His head hit his front legs, and his eyes found their way back to Artemis. "You have a nice smile," he said very non-chantey, not really even noticing he said it. He had a bad habit of saying what he was thinking. He quickly blinked, and shook his head, looking off to the side. He felt like he was over doing it with the compliment thing, but he couldn't thin of what else to say. He really wasn't a fan of silence, and wasn't very good at casual conversation. So he went back to the compliments or teasing.[/blockquote]

Artemis observed Jay for a moment as if she was staring as his fur colour "There, now you've caught me," she laughed. The warmth of the sun on her fur made her overly relaxed. She lay down but kept her head up so she could have a look around the canyon for a moment. It was the most barren place she had visited yet it held a certain charm to it. And now she could never visit it without thinking of her new friend... Well she hoped they were friends at least. She was one of those creatures that hated to be lonely. It was kind of pathetic really how much she craved being around others sometimes but she tried not to focus on it. It was all part of her bizzarely mixed personality.
When Jaeden seemed to startled that she wasn't used to compliments Artemis was surprised by his reaction. She supposed she did get complimented sometimes but she was oblivious to it. She paid little attention when it came to that sort of thing, not because she didn't particularly want the attention but because she was more than a little afraid of the 'L' word. Strange. "I guess I just don't pay them much attention really," she shrugged nonchalantly.
If it was possible for a wolf to blush then Artemis would have when Jay complimented her smile. She wasn't embarrassed it was just a pleasant kind of blush. "You're very observant," she commented almost curiously. This wolf certainly interested her in his mannerisms. Nobody that she knew noticed so much about others around them. It was both amusing and a little bit weird. He seemed embarrassed as he looked away from her which was not what she wanted at all.
"It's nice to have a friend to smile with though. I'm so... serious with my pack. Well I should be, I'm a Hu'li warrior." Well that would certainly make him see her differently. She didn't seem from her relaxed mannerisms that she was such a fighter when the time came to it but it was how she had grown up. Her father had been a warrior for the pack and she had simply followed in his pawsteps. It made her happy to think of it that way.

Jaeden couldn't help but laugh when she spoke. It did make him feel better about the whole situation, but it still wasn't the same. "Alright, I'll let that slide just this once. I catch you staring again I might have to beat you." Tones were extremely childish as he joked, a smile going all the way around his muzzle. He was in a puckish mood, and he let it slip, but didn't really care. he figured Artemis would just laugh it off anyways. Eyes narrowed at her as she just shrugged off an answer. He let out a huff, looking at her, the tip of his tail twitching. "I don't know why you wouldn't, he started, chocolate brown eyes looking at her amber pools, "Being complimented is one of the greatest things out there." He actually meant what he said too. There were nice to receive, no doubt, but when the person really meant what they were saying, it seemed like more than a compliment. That was just him though, he always seemed to blow things out of purpotion. His ears perked up slightly as she spoke, but still were not standing as tall as they could. "Not really," he looked at his front paws for a second, but before looking back over at Artemis, "I just say everything out loud instead of thinking it in my head." It might have sounded stupid, but it was kind of a habit. "Like I'm sure you thought of something about my appearance when you first saw me, but just didn't say anything. I tend to blurt things out." He tilted his head a little to the left, before holding it back up straight. Friend. The word rang in his head a moment. He nearly missed the rest of her words. He just really didn't have that many people consider him a friend. "Serious?" His right ear went back and flattened its self against the back of his skull as he looked at her. "Why would you want to be serious? It's so boring acting that way all the time." He laid his head back down on his paws, looking at her, a slight yawn escaping his mouth again. "Besides, it takes to much energy to keep that up." He lifted his head when he spoke, but merely put it back down afterwards.[/blockquote]

He was right, getting compliments was a pleasant thing really. But she rarely spoke as she though since what went on in her head was sometimes less than lovely. She had a darker side to her that she tried not to let out very often. It was her dirty little secret. But still she allowed herself a small smile, "Oh so you want to hear what's on my mind?" Artemis asked playfully. Her tail swished from side to side showing that she was enjoying the banter between them. "Just this once I'll let you into the weird world that is my thoughts. I was thinking how much your fur colour reminded me of being in my favourite place - right here." She looked away from him for a moment, pushing her embarrassment back down inside her. No way was she showing a sign of weakness.
She noticed how opposed to the idea of working hard Jay was. It seemed strange to her since she was so much of a hard worker and she was so devoted to fighting for her pack. They were opposites in that aspect of life really. Perhaps it was just because she loved her pack so much where as he seemed not to have any pride for his own pack. Either than or he was just plain lazy. She smirked a little, "I think I'd die of shock if I saw you be serious for even a minute." She was joking of course but she pretended to be almost serious.
Artemis pushed herself up into a sitting position, curling her tail around her paws. Bright amber eyes settled on the maned wolf infront of her. Yep, he deffinately needed to be shaken out of this relaxed stupour and to get some energy going on. She had a brilliant idea and so she stood up, locking gazes with Jay.
Arty cocked her head to one side, eyes lighting up "I'd like to see you try to beat me though." She tapped him on his muzzle with one paw then trotted away a few paces. She went into a hunting crouch, tail in the air. Of course she was teasing but she wanted to see if this lazy wolf had some energy in him. The grey wolf let a playful growl loose from her muzzle, taunting him to try his luck.

Inside the head of a female, did he really want to know? His head did tilt slightly in curiosity, both ears parking up as he looked at her. What she said caused a smirk on his lips. He could have easily taken the 'right here' part, and twisted it, but he decided he wasn't going to. Well, then again, he hadn't teased her once about anything, and it did feel like it was over due. "Aw, really?" His voice sounded like he was talking to a child, amusement flickering in his eyes, "Well, I must say, I'm flattered. Here with you is rather swell, but I wouldn't go as far as being my favorite place to be." He grinned, tail swishing a little with amusement. Jaeden looked at her with a grin on his muzzle. "Well, you wouldn't have to worry about that love," he stated, ear twitching, "I don't think I am capable of being serious." Of course he was joking, but in a way, he wasn't. He could be serious when the occasion called for it, but he really didn't like it. He was more for the relaxed, slack off personality he had, and would rather act childish than grown up. As the wolf moved, he lifted his head, ears up straight. He almost asked her what she was doing. They had been having such casual conversation how they were, why need to move? Their gazes locked, and he tilted his head a little more when she spoke, completely confused at first. But then she popped him on the nose. he shook his head, letting a breath out through his nose. He narrowed his eyes, watching as she trotted off, dropping into a crouch and growl. Was she serious? He just stayed like that for a long moment, completely frozen like a statue, just staring at her.A small groan came from him, and he slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position. His ears still perked, watching her, wondering if he really should go out. He didn't feel like moving, would rather just lay on his rock in peace. She looked awfully foolish, standing there like that though, and would look even worse if he didn't do anything. With a sigh, he stood up completely, and shook his pelt. He then proceeded to stretch, first sticking his rump in the air and spreading out his toes on his fore paw, then leaned forward, shaking out each of his back legs. His licked his lips, and slowly came down off his rock, brown eyes still looking at the wolf for a moment. This suddenly felt like a stupid idea. She was much larger than him, and was probably ten times as strong, it would probably end badly for him too. But hey, it was all meant in fun, right? The maned wolf dropped down to the ground, his tail staying flat on the ground. He moved his front shoulders slightly, like a cat would do before pouncing. Only, he didn't pounce. Instead, he stood back up, then, with a grin on his face, and took a step forward. He merely pranced forward, closer to her, and reached out with his muzzle, barely grazing the fur on her cheek with his nose. After that, his whole body switched gears. He turned, and bolted off in the opposite direction, a laugh coming from him, along with the faint word of 'tag', but you really couldn't here it between the laughs. She wanted to him move, so, he moved.[/blockquote]

Realising that what she had said could be taken the wrong way, Artemis chuckled. Well she really needed to watch how she phrased things really but at least it was entertaining. With a teasing tone she spoke, "Oh I don't know, you seem to be enjoying it." Ah ever the coy one. A comfortingly cool breeze ruffled her thick fur as she listened to him and observed his actions. He lacked the energy that she was brimming with.
"Oh my goddess, you're so lazy," Artemis mocked as he seemed reluctant to join in with her game. It was something she played with her packmates when they had reached the end of their tether with training. She didn't often win since she was one of the smaller fighters but it was still fun. She observed Jaeden in a pretend superior manner, swishing her tail at the thought of having something to tease him about. It was quite amusing really.
The close proximity of him brushing against the fur on her cheek startled her for a moment, taking her aback. She shook her head as she watched him laughing at her. Very funny, tough guy," she chuckled, muscles tensed. She pounced, nudging him under his muzzle with her own then she nipped at his right hind leg without hurting him. She sat down, looking at him with a smile. So much for 'tag', she thought. Bright eyes sparkled as she laughed happily. She liked to take a day off every so often.
It was strange to see a wolf who was usually so serious and intense playing with her new friend. Her alpha would hardly recognise her in this state of mind.. It occurred to her that some wolves she knew would not approve of her friendship with someone that was not a member of their pack but she didn't care. Not really at least. She did not take on this attitude, believing that nobody was inferior than others because of what they look like.

Jaeden let a bark of laughter slip out of his mouth. Artemis was quicker with her tongue then he had thought. "Touché ," he said, a light chuckle still in his voice. He had to admit, that was pretty sly of her. "What if I said I really wasn't enjoying it though? What if it was all just some act? Huh? What then?" He swished his tail around again, wondering what she would come back with that. The little game he had planned in his head really didn't as planned. He hand poked her and took off, but she was quicker than what he had set in her mind. She pounced, catching him in a flash. The nuzzle she gave him caught him off guard. It slightly stunned him and gave her the time to nip at his back leg. As a delayed reflexed he picked up his hind leg, but it at up in the air for a moment, as Artemis sat down and laughed. Jay slowly placed his leg back on the ground, his brown eyes looking at her. He sat down on his butt, his tail wrapping around his feet. "You know, you wanted me to move, and and move, and attempt to start a game of tag, and you had to go and do that." His eyes narrowed as he looked at her, just sitting there, laughing. She did seem rather pleased with herself. But then a sudden thought occurred to him, the game could still continue, it would just mean he was it. But that would mean he would have to get up and run again, and he felt like he had moved enough for one day. Still, something sparked inside him. He really just didn't want to sit there. He had a sudden urge to do something, anything. So, he stood up, ears perking up as well. He then just simply turned, and trotted off. No word or nothing to Artemis, didn't even look at her. He just up and started walking, just out of a whim. Not really a sinister of a plot as he would have liked, but it was something non the less. And again, he wasn't being extremely lazy, after all he was walking. [/blockquote]

Artemis tilted her head slightly to one side, ears perked. "Then you are a better actor than I'd give you credit for." The banter was certainly keeping her interested in this conversation. Her tail swished from side to side, showing that she was rather content with her world. The only downside was that she could feel her playful mood wearing off and now she was enterring a more sarcastic frame of mind. God help this poor wolf if this mood took over her.
Her tail stopped swishing and her posture changed from simply being relaxed to now being more critical and ready for serious banter. It was odd if you were not used to how Arty could change to see this happen. Perhaps it could be seen as a lack of humour but that was just how she worked. Inside her head were so many personality traits that it was confusing even for the wolf in question. Ah how she craved a simple life...
Artemis watched him leave for a moment, eyes narrowing. How rude! She pushed herself to her feet and padded like she was on her way to a hunt, her paws soon carrying her swiftly past him. She glanced over her shoulder at the maned wolf and gave a smirk, "Give up easy, don't you?" In truth the question was rhetorical but it made no difference really. She trotted a few paces more then paused, half turning to observe him as he approached where she was standing.
{ooc: gah that was crappy 0.o}

A nod of his head was given when she answered him. "Well," he said, his posture improving as he sat up a little straighter, "I shall have you know that I can be an excellent actor." A smug voice came out of his muzzle, a cocky grin on his face. He might have been exaggerating a bit, but he really didn't care. It wasn't like she knew that. He watched as she fixed her position, but really took nothing from it. He just figured she was rearranging herself, getting more comfortable. He really had no reason to think otherwise. It wasn't like he truly knew Artemis. He had only really seen one side of her. Still, he was bored with the whole thing. The conversation had stopped, and there were just sitting there in silence. And silence was horrible. So Jaeden thought he would mix it up a bit. He got up and walked away, trying to think of something to actually do. He had no doubt in his mind that Artemis would follow him, either that or just tackle him down, so he figured it was something.Jaeden watched as Artemis walked past him, a curious look to his eyes. He hadn't figured she would walk in front of him, rather behind him. Still, he quickly looked away as she glanced over her should, and purposely didn't look at her. Out of the corner of his eyes though, he caught the smirk. His chocolate gaze looked over at her for a second, but his mouth still stayed shut. There was a little idea forming in his mind. It was weak, and didn't have much thought to it, but just walking and staying silent would probably drive him crazy if he kept it up. Artemis stopped in front of him. He smirked to himself, and still kept walking the way he had, nothing changing. he didn't even slow down, in fact, he sped up a little. His feet picked up a trot, carrying him a mere foot from Arty. From there he moved both his fore paws toward her, then pushed off the ground with his back legs. Now, maned wolves aren't really known for their jumping, but Jay was pretty good at it. He easily soared over Artemis, and landed nice just on the other side of her. He stopped, his head swinging around to look at her, a smug grin wrapping around his face. He could of spoke up and said something, but he didn't, felt like it would be more fun just to watch and see what her reaction was.[/blockquote]
