Her bright amber eyes widened as Jay jumped clean over her. Well she certainly had not been expecting that! Her posture tensed, hoping he would not knock her as he did so, but once he had cleared her she relaxed a little once more. It was so odd to see him do such a strange thing but she had decided to roll with it. Her life seemed to have danced into randomness these days. She looked at the maned wolf in an incredulous manner, "Does the word 'random' mean anything to you?" Oh hello sarcasm, so you have returned.

Her life had turned into a game. Aparently that game has morphed into 'leap wolf', which she was not opposed to. She was the larger of the pair but she was not particularly light on her feet unless she was running. She settled for gaining the element of surprise. She stepped forward once more and touched her nose to him with a coy smile. Ah now wasn't life more fun when there was someone to unnerve. He had caught her out of balance so of course it was her turn. "Maybe you could do with more acting training, Jay." She was joking... sort of. Her smile was enough anyways.

Artemis remained standing for the time being, aware that sitting down was not likely to last very long really. Not with the way that she and Jaeden seemed to interact with each other. This other wolf was like nobody that she had ever met before. How bizarre it was really. She smirked a little as she thought about how different she was herself really. She was so many personalities all rolled into one. A few of them had already crept through. She had managed sweet, flirty, coy, sarcastic and playful. If she could just keep back the darker aspects then all would be right with the world...

Jaeden couldn't help but laugh. He had kept a straight face long enough. He just cracked. He really had tried not to laugh, but he couldn't hold it in very well. "Random defines me," he said, his voice breaking through his laughter, "without it, love, I wouldn't be anything."

[/color] A smirk was spread across his muzzle, his chocolate brown eyes looking at her with the same spark of amusement dancing in them. [/size]

He watched as she stepped forward, his head coking to the side a bit. He had absolutely no idea what she was doing, and he just kind of stared at her. As she touched him with her nose, he froze again, much like he had before. As much of a flirt he could be, actually contact with other canines seemed to send him in a tizzy. He didn't know what it was, but he just froze up, and all his reactions were delayed. Like now, he just looked at her, now like she had just sprung a second head or something. He blinked twice, the only movement his whole body had, besides his fur rustling in the light breeze.

Jaeden finally snapped out of his little stance after Artemis spoke. He shook his head a little bit, then just shook his whole coat, as if flinging water from his body. He then looked up at her, his amusement slightly dieing down in his eyes. "Hardy har har." He took a step forward, for no reason really, just to make some little movement. "I bet you think you're so clever. He teased, a small smile tugging at the edges of his lips. Again, he couldn't stay serious for to long, it just wasn't in his nature.[/color]

It amused Artemis how quick witted he seemed to be. It reminded her of the side of her own firecracker personality that she actually liked. She looked over him in a mock critical manner before she replied, "Actually you might be right there." Of course she was just kidding but it was more fun to be this way. She couldn't imagine letting her more playful side out infront of pack members like Ezekial. It would not go down well at all with him. She smirked at the mere thought of this taking place at all. Certainly she would not wish it to.

Despite being so sure of himself it was obvious to Artemis that she was discovered a weakness of the maned wolf. She would make sure to remember that and use it to her advantage in the future if the moment arose. It was funny how he froze at such a thing. If they were to be friends he may just have to get used to the fact that this was the way the grey wolf was.. Well it was how she was for some of the time at least. No one thing was constant with her apart from her need to be around others for part of each day.

When Jay took a step forward she mirrored him, doing exactly the same. Her amber eyes sparkled with humour. This was a fun little game they had going here. "Clever? No. Superior? Certainly." She really did need to stop pushing other people's buttons one of these days. It was going to get her into trouble with the wrong kind of canine if she did not check herself before she spoke. But this was only Jaeden and he seemed pretty used to her sense of humour at this stage of the game.

"Then again," she mused out loud, fighting back laughter and a smile. "I guess I am pretty clever as well." Her tail swished unbidden as the grey wolf found herself highly amused by the whole scenario. This was turning out to be a good day after all despite any set backs she may have encountered along the way.
