Serial Cluckos; Alpha of The United Pack
___________________________________
Serial's eyes glanced around her surroundings, seeing few of her pack mates here. It was just after the sun had set, and the moon had taken the sky. The air was comfortably warm, but not humid. Today was the day for the pack meeting she had been planning. She had a couple things she'd like to discuss with her pack, not wanting to leave their opinions out.
So she stood there, close to The Great Stone. She would've gone there if this was such a simple manner, but it never was. Tilting her ebony and ivory colored head back and closing her eyes, she let out a short and lonely howl. It was a howl that held authority, and beckoned the whole pack.
As her howl finished, Serial looked around waiting a couple moments. She wanted everyone here to hear this. Then, with her tail high in the air and her one ear as erect as it could be, she spoke.
"My friends, my kin, my pack, I have called you all here today for a meetin'." Her voice wasn't soft, but it wasn't cruel. It was loud enough so that everyone could hear it. Serial strained to keep her words as clear as possible for any who might have trouble understanding. After all, she didn't want to repeat herself.
"First of all, we shall have a huntin' trip in a few days. Food is 'bundant right now and I'd like for us to get our share. This means that all capable members will need to attend." Her words flowed out easily at that point, as she continued on. "Also, Deltas Sabian and Isabelle, how have your patrols been goin'? Good, I hope? Has there been any suspicious activity?"
With that, she waited for her two Deltas to reply. She idly thought that after their reports, she would discuss something that her whole pack needed to hear. They needed to know the main reason they were called here.

Nuclear's ears perked to hear a familiar howl cut through the still air. Her Alpha was calling and of course she would answer. Pushing herself up onto her paws the orange and white Akita padded in the direction of Serial's howl. She did find herself wondering what it was that the meeting was all about. It was a curious thing indeed. Perhaps there was something afoot but equally it may just be a chance to catch up with what was going on in the pack territory. Well she was about to find out.
Nuke was soon approaching her Alpha. A smile curved over her muzzle as she came to a stop infront of Serial. "Good day, Alpha Serial," she intoned in her usual warm manner. The Beta dipped her muzzle in respect and greeting to the wolf that she was endlessly loyal to. She knew that Serial had taken a chance by giving her the position of Beta but she was more than ready to try to live up to this. She knew that her ranking would be revoked if she was not worthy of it. Nuke had no intention of letting that happen.
The Akita sat down, her tail curled onto her back as she listened to what was being said. Yes there was deffinately something to be said at this meeting. She wondered what was so important... Lucky for her that curiosity only killed the cat not the dog. Now was the time for her curiosity to be satisfied.

Sabian padded into the clearing, his golden plated eyes scanning the area as he respectfully nodded his head towards Serial.
"No, Alpha," he rumbled in his deep voice. His patrols had gone very well, in the sense that there was nothing interesting to report. He had been running or participating in patrols for years and years. He was an old hat at this. "All and any scents of either the Hu'li wolves or," he snarled, "The Pure Bloods have been found only at the borders, and are very stale." He had always had a connection to the Hu'li wolves and, though the united pack were seperate from them, their rivalries were only ever over territory or normal pack things. The rivalry with the Pure Bloods was a lot more deeply rooted, and dangerous. And Sabian wanted nothing to do with those bastards.
He nodded to Serial once again and made his way towards a shady part of the clearing, where the yawning circle of trees blocked out part of the sun. He lay down in the grasses and stretched out his sore limbs, exhausted from the extra hunting to feed his growing pups and his lovely mate, Annishanabi, who needed all her strength to feed her new litter. Sure he was older than her and had sired a few pups, but he had lost contact with them because they either died or left the pack. He had outlived all of his previous mates, as well and, due to his age, this may be his last time to pass on his genes.
He yawned, his pink tongue curling over his white, snake-like fangs, his ears pressed back against his head, and his tail wagged happily as the panting male tried to cool himself in this opressing summer heat. He wondered what this meeting was about, but knew he would find out in due time. So he sat, patiently. Hopefully his answer had pleased the Alpha. He was sure it would: no news was good news. Jaeden was sort of past schedule. Well, frankly he was late. There was no denying it. He had been out, basking in the sun when the howl had pierced threw the air and rang in his ears. He lazily sat up, looked around, and yawned. Slowly he pulled himself up into a sitting positioned, then stood. He took his precious time, stretching out each limb, before trotting off towards their little camp and the clearing in which they all met in.
Serial had already begun to speak when he arrived. She was still only on her first sentence, but still, it was disrespectful to walk in while his Alpha was speaking. he just dipped his head apologetically towards her, taking a seat on the ground, his bushy orange tail wrapping around his body.Serial continued and spoke of a hunt. Jaeden felt his heart sink. He wasn't the type that was all to eager about a hunt. He rather despised them. As much as he liked the pack, working together with them to bring down a large animal just didn't seem appealing to him. He would rather just lay around in the sun. It was so much nicer than running threw the mud and having blood stain your muzzle.
Head turned as he herd a deep rumble of a voice. He looked over at Sabian, watching the older canine as he spoke. He smiled a bit at his news. He wasn't in any mood for a war. Or if there was anything suspicious, he didn't want to be sent over enemy lines to go sneaking about. Sure he was small, and lithe, and good at it, he just didn't like to. Again, the sun was a glorious thing, and having its ray beat down on your was probably the best thing that the maned wold could ever think of.
Eyes stayed on the other male pack mate for a second, watching as he moved and panted. The way he was acting you'd think it was to hot outside. Jaeden looked around, eyes glancing at Nuclear for a moment before back up at the Alpha. He didn't think it was hot. He thought the temperature was just right. Of course he often forgot that others had much thicker coat than he did, and weren't built for the heat like his body was. Still, he couldn't help but think them mad.

She was sleeping when the howl sounded. Ears pricked immediately, waking her from a pleasant dream. She had been flying, and their were large, pink rabbits... Annishanbi shook her head and yawned, maw opening wide, showing a set of sharp teeth. The husky scrambled to her feet and stretched. She shot a quick glance at her sleeping pups and smiled. They'd be safe till she got back. She turned and quickly walked out of the den. She picked up speed, going in a brisk trot to the clearing, hobbling awkwardly. Annie slowed and bent her head respectfully as the alpha came to view. Serial had just finished speaking, Annie only caught the last few words. As Sabian anserd the alphess Annie felt a glow of pride. She was lucky to have a strong wolf like him as a mate. She kept to the back, behind everyone else and came to rest besides Sabian. She licked his cheek and lay down besides him, her crippled leg under her body. She laid her head on her paws and looked around at the others. It seemed there were two pack members not present. She felt relieved she was not the last one.

Serial nodded after Sabian had replied. "Good. We don't need any troubles right now." She watched him go back towards the shade for a moment, before she saw Annishanabi creep in.
"Late, Annishanabi?" She asked, her voice leaning towards a more teasing tone, but still with dominance. "At least you aren't the last one." She had acknowledged that one of United's pack member, Isabelle, hadn't shown up. It made her worry for a moment, before she shoved the thought to the back of her mind. She'd deal with it later.
Serial took a deep breath. She was somewhat nervous. She wasn't sure how her pack would react to this. She hoped they would have a good reaction, instead of a bad one. But it was her decision, right? She was Alpha, after all.
"We all know about the Pure Bloods, correct?" Her muscles tensed at the name for a moment, before relaxing. "About their idiotic beliefs and vanity. About their hated towards us, of which we fully return." She took a quick look at every canine there. "They are smaller in number than us, and even the Hu'li wolves are small. This puts us at a great advantage over both of them."
She grew a bit more nervous, and began pacing back and forth while she talked. "If we had more numbers in our pack, we could surely take down the Pure Bloods. But we don't, and it takes time to gain more members." She paused for a moment. "I do happen to know of a way that is quick and easy, a way that will indeed promise us the numbers we need."
"I," She hesitated. "I have been considering this heavily and thuroughly. And it is high time I finally announce my solution." She stopped pacing and instead looked up to her whole pack, determination shining through her nervous stance. "I'd like to form an alliance with the Hu'li wolves."
There, she said it. It was over with, and now she just had to wait for the good and bad reactions.

Nuclear listened carefully to Serial. The idea of bringing down her birth pack was one she liked the sound of. She had never been happy amongst them but had felt duty bound to remain until she had encountered the United Pack. She was at home there now. The orange Akita considered her response for a moment then she spoke, "I think it's a good idea. The Hu'li probably want to be rid of the presense of the Purebloods as much as we do." She was certain that this alliance would benefit the wolves more than it would her own pack but it was a solid plan all the same. She had encountered a member of that pack before and the wolf had seemed pleasant enough.
A thought then occurred to Nuke. "There are some wolves in the Hu'li with prejudices agains us dogs though. There may be some conflict when our packs first join forces." The orange dog had no doubt there would be sarcastic comments and confrontations flying around in the beginning. She did not think it would come down to fighting but there was always a slim chance. She hoped both sides were ready to join forces and lay their prejudices to one side. Nuclear herself had needed to fully rid herself of any negative thoughts about wolves based on her upbringing in order to join the United Pack. If she had managed it then surely it was possible.
She thought of the Pureblood Pack and sighed. If only they could stop being so stubborn and learn to become friends with those around them. It would be a true test of her loyalty to Serial for her to face her old packmates in any fight that may take place. Could she really kill if she was asked to? That would take time and a lot of consideration. She was not quite sure how best to even begin to think about the task at hand. If she faced her friends of her childhood could she truly turn her fangs on them? Time would tell.

Sabian Ikorr
[/b] he paused and looked around the clearing, "But the Hu'li wolves will hold fast to their beliefes and their way of life. The change from the Wolf pack to the United pack is a dramatic one, and one I think many wolves will not take kindly to. We are not enemies, the Hu'li wolves and us, but we will never be one pack. Not truly. But... for the sake of the Purebloods... I believe we should try." [/blockquote][/size] [/ul]

For once, the tawny mongrel was silent. Subdued, he was gazing at the many boulders that littered the dusty ground. Something in his muddled brain was ticking. He frowned, a frown that disfigured his typically beaming features. Somehow… he felt connected to this land. It was as though he had been here before. But he was certain he had never set paw in this desolate area. And yet… It looked so familiar…
Indecision sighed. The memory had passed; this land no longer appeared familiar, only strange and new. As he curiously inspected the boulders, he heard a long, drawn out howl. It echoed with authority and power. It was also a command… But as a command for what he had no idea. Oh well. I’ll just ignore it then, he decided, making up his mind after much consideration. By then, it was well over the ten minutes he had wanted to linger there. But of course, by then he had also forgotten he only wanted to remain there for ten minutes.
Now, he frisked about, playfully dodging rocks in his pursuit of a rabbit he had spotted. When he lost the trail, he grew decidedly bored and sprinted off. This time, he was headed for the United pack’s meeting spot, hoping that someone would magically be there. Along the way, he snagged wild berries from their bushes and slurped cool water from ponds. When he had almost reached his destination, his memory figured it was the ideal time to vanish. Confused, he veered off in the opposite direction. That is, until he heard the hushed voices of canines. Canines that he had recognized. Curious, he turned back.
Suddenly, he burst through a clearing, whereupon the voices were now clear and audible. Atop a particularly large boulder, a black and white mongrel was composed regally. Staring at her rather bluntly, Indecision experienced another wave of memory. This time, though, it remained until he finally recognized who it was. It was his alpha. Surrounding her were a few other members from his pack. He acknowledged them with a nod of his head, although he couldn’t quite recall their names.
As he glanced across at every canine’s face, a thought settled into him. It appeared that everyone in the pack was there. But why? ”Hey, what’s going on here?” he asked, displaying the extent of his ignorance. He wormed his way into a more comfortable position, his front paws eased before him outstretched, his shaggy tail curved to enclose his frame. As he listened to his alpha – Sera Cluck or whatever her name was – paying only half of his already depleted attention, he vaguely caught the words ”Hu’li” and ”alliance”. Wait a second… Hu’li? Again, he repeated dumbly, ”’Hu’li’? What’s a ‘Hu’li’?” As the other canines rose with replies to his alpha’s announcement, his mind became filled with confusion. What was going on?

After a quick embarrassing moment on her behalf, things turned interesting. Annishanabi found her self with ears forward and her head high, listening to every word that was spoken. Serial wanted an alliance. Clearly she was nervous, probably worried how her pack mates would take it. It was understandable. Annie wasn't to pleased at the prospect. She had nothing against wolves, but she didn't really like the idea of having to really on another pack for help. But, then again, it would be nice to rid the island of those trouble some Pure Bloods. With two packs working together it would be easier. The husky tilted her head down, lost in her thoughts. Annie came back to reality when Nuclear spoke. The Akita agreed, seeming pleased enough, but lessening at the though of prejudice. Annie made a face. That would be doubled for her, if she should get to meet the wolves. Don't know why I'm even bothering. I wont be fighting anyway. Then Sabian spoke. The femme cocked her head, wondering what his vote was. He agreed. Annie put her head down again, some of Nuclear's words echoing in her head. The Hu'li probably want to be rid of the presence of the Pure Bloods as much as we do. That was probably true. No one liked the Pure Bloods except the Pure Bloods themselves. With an inward sigh Annie looked up at her leader. "I suppose it would be wise to ali with the wolves if your going to attack the Pure Bloods. I support your desition, Alpha."She dipped her head respectfully, showing she was finished, when a new canine burst into the clearing. He looked utterly confused.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true] | [atrb=background,http://i50.tinypic.com/290udxl.jpg] Serial nodded her head, liking the replies she was getting from her pack mates. So, they all agreed it would be a good plan. She smiled, her nervous thoughts gone. "That may be true Sabian and Nuclear, bu' I feel that if we get along fine here, we should be able to stan' the Hu'li if we ally with them."
Just as she finished, a dog burst through the clearing the pack was in. Serial's blue eyes widened for a moment, then returned to normal. What a shock. She had forgotten all about this poor dog who had joined recently. For a moment she stared at him, waiting for him to speak. When he did, she was thoroughly confused. How did he not know that they were having a pack meeting? She had alerted everyone...
"We're having a meetin', one that you so kindly ignored." Her voice boomed, and her eyes narrowed. She wasn't suspicious, but annoyed. When he asked another thing, promptly ignoring her, she became confused.
"What do you mean, 'what's a Hu'li'?" She questioned. "The Hu'li are a wolf pack, one that we want to ally with." She shook her a head a bit, not sure about the dog. "Now, sit down and listen." She ordered Indecision, almost glaring at him.
She almost smiled, liking the thought of taking down the Pure Bloods. Her pack wouldn't be threatened by them any longer, and the Hu'li and United could be in a peaceful treaty. Yet, what would happen if those dogs would have more strength in numbers than the force United and Hu'li might send? Serial huffed, sending those thoughts away. The Pure Bloods did not have enough members for that.
"Now, if we are to alert to Hu'li, we need someone to go over to those pack lands and talk to them." She announced, glancing towards Sabian. "Delta Sabian, you will accompany me to the pack lands of the Hu'li."
She kept her gaze on him, making sure he was paying attention. "Our objective is to not start a war or spy, but to make our alliance official." She then moved her gaze to everyone in the clearing. "Me and Dusk have both talked it over beforehand. She seemed interested in the idea, and we left it at that. That is why things seem to be going quickly."
Serial then sat down, wrapping her long and furry tail around her feet. She watched everyone with careful eyes, making sure that they had no objections. As soon as they were done with their own opinions, she would have a few more things to attend to. One of them concerning the pack hunt.
