Appearance:
Valerian has a more lupine appearance to him. His eyes are a dark brown, so dark that the brown is often indiscernible are mistaken for a pitch black. He is one of the larger brutes, thanks to his heritage and such. His coat was a mixture of different shades of brown ranging from a deep earthy brown to a dark russet brown. On the underside of his belly and the insides of his legs was where the brown was lightest though, mainly an earthy brown and then getting darker to a rich mahogany and even some chocolate. The fur around his head, neck, throat and back was a darker russet. You couldn’t see where the changes began or end though because of the numerous shades and hued mingling together. The guard hairs along his chest, neck, and along his back were tipped with black, and his ears were rimmed in jet black. Beneath his pelt is a hard and well muscled body, muscles toned and detailed making his build athletic and a fine balance between strength and agility.
Personality
Valerian was born a leader of sorts. He hates having to bend to the wills of others, but will if he believes it’s for the better. He is a strong fighter, a clever male, and a good friend. If you gain his trust, he will always be loyal and always be there to defend and comfort you. He shies away from females, having been hurt too many times by them, falling for their tricks and games many a times. Still, he cannot help himself. What could start out as camaraderie could end up him totally crushing on her, to the point of near obsession. Too bad he always goes for the wrong femme’s. He is trusting and lethal, seeming to have that big brother persona and guardian warrior air about him. Once he does something he sets his mind to, he will always follow through, and he is true to his word and follows every action with a strong belief or authoritative purpose. He will take charge of a situation if he feels he needs to, and does his best to resolve conflicts even if they are not his own. He can be a caring individual, but he can be cold and heartless as well. Sometimes it’s like a battle within; fire and ice. He hasn’t found a balance yet, but he keeps on trying. He tries to contain it, and then redirect it. He will be warm to his friends, yet cold to his enemies. He will most likely be a pillar of strength and guidance, but inside he might need someone of his own. Perhaps that’s why he has that whole girl problem?
There seem to be many contrasting traits when it comes to Valerian, but it is all a part of his complex personality. He himself is so confused over who he really is that it only makes sense for him to feel so many different ways and to think so many different things. He contradicts himself constantly even though he is not aware of it. However, when it comes to certain things he knows what he’s doing.
The main thing about Valerian is that a lot of people around him notice is that he keeps to himself recently. Valerian is a rather complicated individual, both preferring to be the loner but who could In his solitude he finds peace and quiet, which is exactly what he needs to sort through his overwhelming thoughts. Sometimes it gives him too much of an opportunity to dwell on things that he doesn't need to be thinking about, but that is his choice. He's a very intimidating and fearsome individual. He instills respect in his peers and usually anyone else he comes into contact with, but earns it at the same time. He never forces that idea onto anyone. His quiet nature makes it hard to approach him because people think he is unfriendly, which is far from the truth. His brooding personality makes it difficult to know what he is thinking or how he is going to respond, so many people don't chance it, further separating him from the rest of the population. He doesn't complain. Valerian is also very intelligent, and that makes him hard to approach because of the intimidation level as other factors. They don't know what to say around him because they don't know what he's thinking, and if they are wrong. However, because of all of those aspects, others are highly intimidated by him. But even though he comes off as intimidating and solitary, Valerian is extremely protective over any individual that has managed to get close to him in his life, and plenty capable and has a strong sense of duty and dedication. He will put them before himself more often than not, and he will make certain that their well being is more important than his own. He uses his skills and his power to take care of them, and he would do anything for anyone of them, them being the rare people he might get close to or even care about.
He might be the most patient individual that one has ever met. If someone is misbehaving or being just rather annoying, he can have a hard time with it at times, but he always calms himself down and becomes the adult in the situation. He never says that out loud, and he keeps his poise and his calm exterior. He is honestly really patient, and tries hard to remain that way in situations in which he just wants to lose his temper. However, there are some times when Valerian just can't hold himself together, and those lapses in control- even though they tend to be few and far in between- can prove fatal for some and savage, erupting in a way that is not always positive. More often than not it's either himself or other adults that can infuriate him. And disrespect is always a gamble when directed intentionally towards Valerian or the ones he cares about. And if he dwells too much upon his past, that can bring a violent outbreak as well. He’s always trying to maintain his control and his neutral, collected exterior, but no matter how fine he has perfected it there will always be times where he snaps.
Hardly is he even talking about anything personal about himself. Now even though he prefers to be alone, he can be really friendly when it comes down to it. He enjoys having an intelligent conversation with someone, he likes to interact with people, but only on his terms. He can be as friendly as they come, but only if he wants to be. On top of the friendliness at times, he is also a very good listener. He knows how it feels to not belong in the world, and he does his best to give good advice to them. He'll listen for as long as someone needs him to.
He has a silver tongue and a razor wit, and his natural stubbornness and defiance gives him a smart ass’d mouth at times. He's sarcastic and more than a little cynical and he can just be downright cold sometimes. Even though he can be the loner, he can also be very social, and his patience and experience gives him good qualities for being a mentor.
