Appearance(50 words minimum):
Dusk is a beautiful wolf with a luxurious, marble gray coat streaked with ash gray. Bronze highlights her flank, fading to a magnificent shade of white, a hue as blazing and placate as the spherical moon. A dazzling, immaculate white also colors her entire underbelly and extends up to her throat. A stripe of umber runs down her muzzle; this chocolaty umber also accompanies her ears, which perch precariously atop her head, tipping them to a strong, rich color. Her soulful, amber eyes penetrate others. They hold meaningful depth to them that provoke much wariness from other canines. These lustrous orbs are set into a rather stout muzzle. Her lithe frame is slightly smaller than average, however, creating a minor disadvantage. Fortunately, she is more than capable of defending herself from attackers, for she is spry and cunning, dodging swipes and outwitting the opponent. Her slender legs are immensely flexible and somewhat muscular.
Personality(150 words):
Dusk has a gentle, benign nature – but not when concerning the Pure Blood pack. Although not ruthless, she does command a terrifying presence when infuriated, but it’s more how calm her expression can be that’s truly frightening when they’re wiped of all emotion. She is a natural-born leader and has much control over herself and others. For instance, emotions are carefully concealed or revealed at appropriate times. Also, she is expert at coaxing vital information out of other canines. In general, she is a leader and a dreamer. She looks to the moon, Luna, and the stars for guidance. She does, however, distrust the sun. Light blinds everything of how things really appear when glimpsed in moonlight. On the other side, she is a fierce fighter. She stands up to her beliefs, and pity on the poor canine who dares contradict her in an obscene way or labels her as stubborn. She fights for her life or her pack’s when threatened. Perhaps what really earned her high status was her strong will to survive.
History:
Dusk was the second born in a litter of five. Her mother, a timid wolf with white blazes on her tawny coat named Danica, had nearly perished giving birth to the quintet, a squirming bunch eager to see the world. As a young pup growing up, she was inquisitive and led her four siblings even though her older brother, a dark wolf with umber streaks named Calybus, often challenged her in their competitive rivalry. She was a skilled hunter though never preferred it as a pastime. She was also graced with slender legs for speed and agility.
When she was around a year old, her mother grew weakened after a tussle with a Pure Bloods canine. Since her father, a pure raven black wolf named Scepter, had passed away the previous month due to an assault by a livid grizzly bear mother, Dusk felt it was her duty to care for Danica. She now was in charge of hunting affairs and shelter seeking. Every day, Dusk would meticulously groom her mother’s wounded and scar-riddled body and chew bits of fresh meat for Danica to eat. At night, she would cuddle close to her mother’s side for additional warmth. However, Calybus was only disgusted with this display of maternal care.
Soon, more savage slaughters occurred to her family, which was rapidly diminishing. Dusk continued to lead the meager family to safety each time and proceeded in her care for her mother, whose health was nearly depleted. Calybus was growing more and more disgruntled with each passing of the moon. Finally, he devised a plan to permanently remove her from the family. One night, when Luna had just risen over the peaks of the mountains, he stealthily crept into the den Dusk shared with Danica. Dusk woke to the image of his paw raised to strike their mother. In a menacing growl, he threatened to kill their mother if Dusk didn’t leave the family forever. Torn between wanting to care for her mother and not wanting Danica dead, Dusk left that same night.
Ever since that fateful departure, she has been wandering the hills and forests of the isle, searching for a new family. She took advantage of her skills of leadership and joined a pack that rivaled that of the Pure Bloods, who had slaughtered and captured so many of those she loved. And she has, as Alpha, joined the pack: Hu’li.

Who knew her life would so dramatically alter just like that? Dusk certainly didn’t. She was, after all, an alpha – not a prophet. Her graceful legs pounded through the eternal forest, whose trees obscured all light with their lofty peaks. Her ears were perked as she sprinted through the desolate woods. Occasionally, she would sense a faraway nightingale wail, but that was all. Nothing stirred in this deadened place except for her.
She scampered across the alien land, swiftly navigating so she avoided clumps of crisp leaves that dotted the landscape. Low-lying branches presented a trifle of an obstacle for her to maneuver around. Every so often, she would glance upwards, over the arching treetops to glimpse the North Star, a sprinkling of light barely seen through the thick, condensed clouds. She was heading north – away from her family, away from her mother, away from her ruthless brother. She desired nothing more to do with them. Not that it was in her discretion.
After galloping for half an hour, she was finally satisfied that she was not being pursued. Her grinding sprint was halted, and she lay, panting in a widened crevice, just enough for her tiny frame to fit. From this opening in the wide rock that protruded from a cliff face, she had a clear view of the scarlet and bronze leaves that floated down from the trees, who were discarding their summer-wear for a lighter winter coat. Their hues brightened the otherwise dark forest, blazing a definite light in the blackness. So richly colored, so exquisite. What a marvel for her to see. For a moment, Dusk’s mind was blissfully contemplating the picturesque scene before her.
Then, reality struck. She recalled the peaceful, innocent features of her young mother. She shivered at Calybus’s harsh, grating words, his acute, menacing expression. She longed to be back with her family, back to the familiar, warm place she now knew only in her heart. She didn’t regret her decision, just mourned over it. She had sacrificed so much, just so Calybus could have a turn being Alpha over her family. Such selfishness was a disgrace. But no. She mustn’t dwell on the past, only anticipate the future. Resolution overcame her.
[/color]I will join another pack. There will be no Calybus in it. No one like him or the Pure Bloods… And it shall be the Hu’li. It represents strength and freedom. Kindness and safety. The legacy of wolves. A strong sense of power coursed through her fur, an electricity that filled her empty soul. Something curious glinted in her eyes. The old pain in them receded. She had learned to move on. - night
